Goodreads Synopsis:

Alice had her whole summer planned. Non-stop all-you-can-eat buffets while marathoning her favorite TV shows (best friends totally included) with the smallest dash of adulting--working at the library to pay her share of the rent. The only thing missing from her perfect plan? Her girlfriend (who ended things when Alice confessed she's asexual). Alice is done with dating--no thank you, do not pass go, stick a fork in her, done.

But then Alice meets Takumi and she can’t stop thinking about him or the rom com-grade romance feels she did not ask for (uncertainty, butterflies, and swoons, oh my!).
When her blissful summer takes an unexpected turn, and Takumi becomes her knight with a shiny library employee badge (close enough), Alice has to decide if she’s willing to risk their friendship for a love that might not be reciprocated—or understood.

Book Review:
Pre-reading Thoughts:

This book got quite a bit of buzz when the cover was revealed and it went automatically onto my list of books to read in 2018. I am so happy that I am able to participate in the blog for this book! I cannot wait to jump into it!

Thank you to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy for this book! I cannot wait to jump into this book. Just a small little disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

I really liked the writing in this book. it was so easy to get sucked into it because it felt a like a conversation. I could see everything unfold in front of my eyes. I loved the internal dialogue. It was funny and extremely accessible. The dialogue was fun and natural. I was obsessed with the conversations
Plot Thoughts:

I loved how the plot wasn't necessarily based on the romance. Instead, the romance was used as a tool for the main character to come to term with certain things. I also loved how this book was about asexuality. I am a huge supporter of the LGBTQ++ community and this was regrettable my first book on asexuality. I loved that I got to learn more and got to see some of the internal struggles that some people go through.

Character Thoughts:

I loved Feenie. She was so funny. Alice was adorable. She is probably one of the most relatable characters I have ever read. Each character was diverse and different. Their uniqueness shown through whenever they had time on the page. They were well developed and honestly I loved the cast.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I am so glad that I got to read this book. Not only was it an insightful experience but it was fun adorable. I definitely cannot wait to see what Kann brings out next. Her debut was absolutely perfect. The writing was superb and the plot was based on more than a cheesy romance story. The characters where likeable and overall just wonderful. Thank you so much to Xpresso Book Tours for providing me with a copy go this book!

About the Author:

Claire Kann hails from the glorious Bay Area where the weather is regrettably not nearly as temperate as it used to be. She has a BA in English/Creative Writing from Sonoma State University, works for a nonprofit that you may have heard of where she daydreams like she’s paid to do it. LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE is her debut novel.
