Goodreads Synopsis:

A teenage boy born in space makes his first trip to Earth.

He's going to a place he's never been before: home.

Moon 2 is a space station that orbits approximately 250 miles above Earth. It ravels 17,500 miles and hour, making one full orbit every ninety minutes. It's also the only home that fifteen-year-old Leo and two other teens have ever known.

Born and raised on Moon 2, Leo and the twins, Orion and Libra, are finally old enough and strong enough to endure the dangerous trip to Earth. They've been "parented" by teams of astronauts since brith and have run countless drills to ready themselves for every conceivable difficulty they might face on the flight.

But has anything really prepared them for life on terra firma? Because while the planet may be home to billions of people, living there is more treacherous than Leo and his friends could ever have imagined, and their very survival will mean defying impossible odds.

Book Review:
Pre-Reading Thoughts:

I haven't heard much about this book until the ARCs were sent out in South Africa. Since then, I have heard nothing but good things. I cannot wait to jump into this book because it sounds like it is going to be a good read.

Thank you so much to Pan Macmillan South Africa for sending me a copy of this book! Just a small disclaimer for those reading this review. I have received this book in exchange for an honest review. Please note that this does not affect my opinion in any way. All thoughts are my own.

Writing Thoughts:

In the beginning, I did not mix well with the text format used. This book is written in text language. It made it a bit difficult for me to get into the book because of that. My reading brain went absolutely crazy because now it had to do more work. However, at the end of the day, I ended up flying through this book. My reading speed increased as I was drawn into the book. I did feel as though the book lacked descriptions sometimes, but other times the descriptions created a vivid image!

Plot Thoughts:

It is so clear to see that the author put in a lot of research and work in this book. The science sounded correct and made me feel so knowledgeable. I loved how everything played out. The imperfections in the perfect moments and the perfections in the imperfect moments were incredible. I loved how there was never a dull moment in this book. We are always constantly seeing something happen. The plot was well thought through and captivating.

Character Thoughts:

I think that the characters took a bit of flack in this book. They were bland at times for me. I felt as though they lacked something sometimes. However, once beyond that, they were diverse and incredible to read about. They were all unique, each held my attention for a different reason.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I really liked this book. It was one of those that really surprised me. I wasn't expecting to like it, in fact, I thought that I would struggle to get through it. However, the author wrote this book that it would be for almost everyone. The writing might be difficult for some to get into but I promise that once you get a hang of things, you will fly through it! The plot is always interesting and the research that has gone into this book is really incredible! The characters are diverse and never seem to random. Thank you so much to Pan Macmillan South Africa for sending me a copy of this book to review!

Yours in Reading,

Melleny
