Pre-Reading Thoughts:

I haven't heard much about this book until the ARCs were sent out in South Africa. Since then, I have heard nothing but good things. I cannot wait to jump into this book because it sounds like it is going to be a good read.

Writing Thoughts:

In the beginning, I did not mix well with the text format used. This book is written in text language. It made it a bit difficult for me to get into the book because of that. My reading brain went absolutely crazy because now it had to do more work. However, at the end of the day, I ended up flying through this book. My reading speed increased as I was drawn into the book. I did feel as though the book lacked descriptions sometimes, but other times the descriptions created a vivid image!

Plot Thoughts:

It is so clear to see that the author put in a lot of research and work in this book. The science sounded correct and made me feel so knowledgeable. I loved how everything played out. The imperfections in the perfect moments and the perfections in the imperfect moments were incredible. I loved how there was never a dull moment in this book. We are always constantly seeing something happen. The plot was well thought through and captivating.

Character Thoughts:

I think that the characters took a bit of flack in this book. They were bland at times for me. I felt as though they lacked something sometimes. However, once beyond that, they were diverse and incredible to read about. They were all unique, each held my attention for a different reason.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I really liked this book. It was one of those that really surprised me. I wasn't expecting to like it, in fact, I thought that I would struggle to get through it. However, the author wrote this book that it would be for almost everyone. The writing might be difficult for some to get into but I promise that once you get a hang of things, you will fly through it! The plot is always interesting and the research that has gone into this book is really incredible! The characters are diverse and never seem to random. Thank you so much to Pan Macmillan South Africa for sending me a copy of this book to review!
